Klamath Family Head Start was able to have their first Dad’s Club in over a couple years.  Fathers, Uncles, Grandfathers and Significant Male Role models got to take their Head Start children to the YMCA for a fun filled afternoon of swimming.  It was a great turnout.  Please let us know if you would like to be part of the next Dad’s Club.

Our fathers carry 50% of our genetic makeup. Our relationship to our father plays a huge part of who we will become. In many segments of our society, many people grow up without ever knowing their fathers. This is unfortunate because fathers should play as important a role in raising us as our mothers. A father is the model of a man for his daughter and she will choose a man who is like him. A father is the model for his son as well.  Fortunately, there is a trend for fathers to be more active in their children’s lives.  Children that are raised with involved, responsible and committed fathers do better in school, life, and work!  There are 24 million children growing up without their dads in the United States today, and the percentage of children living in father-absent homes has more than tripled in the past 40 years. You, Dad, can make a difference for the next generation!  Dads make a tremendous difference in the lives of their children!
