Towne and Country Construction Update

The framing for the classrooms and offices has been completed. This week the plumbers and electricians have begun working on installation of the plumbing and electrical.  Once that has been completed the contractors will call for the first electrical and plumbing inspections. Once the work is passed, sheetrock will be applied to the walls. Next will come tape and texture and then paint.  Once the walls are completed carpet and VCT will be put on the floors and the plumbers and electrical will return to complete their work on the outside of the walls. After final inspections for plumbing and electrical, the final step for the facility will be sanitation and fire inspections and childcare licensure. Because it is a step-by-step process and a coordination with several contractors and facility inspectors and licensers, of which we have no control, we are unable to give a specific date for completion.  We will be posting photos on our website (www.kfheadstart.org) and our Facebook page of the progress and keep your teachers updated on the progress so they can share the information with you.

Bonanza Facility Update

Renovations are underway on the classroom, and we met this week with contractors for fencing for the playground area and concrete for the paved handicap spot and sidewalks to the playground. Hopefully the weather will be in our favor so we can get on the schedule for completion of the needed outdoor requirements. Following indoor and outdoor renovation completion, sanitation and fire inspections and childcare licensure will need to occur before we are able to open.

Thank You

We would like to thank our Towne and Country Families and Bonanza Families for your patience and understanding during this stressful period. We would also like to thank our Staff, who thought they’d have a classroom to teach in, for their patience and understanding and for some of them, learning a whole new way to do things.

Thanks Again,
